The Journey

Dawning of a New Day

Failure is often that early morning hour of darkness which precedes the dawning of the day of success.”— Leigh Mitchell Hodges

Our health is an ongoing journey and it’s a big part of our life. There are going to be days we don’t make the healthiest choices….they might even span into weeks, but the only defeat comes in feeling fearful that we cannot regain control. If we can just take advantage of the dawning of each new day and see it for what it is: Nature’s gift to us of a fresh, clean start. Today is a chance to make different choices and to feel in control again. When fear, shame or guilt surface in your thought, stop them immediately. You have NOTHING to feel guilty or ashamed of. Each experience it a learning process and those experiences will teach us if we let them. Often times it is when we are the very edge of thinking we will never be able to do this, that we make the biggest progress by sticking with it. When you stick with it, you can prove your negative self wrong and that is empowering. Be mindful of your thoughts today and remember that you CAN do this!
I apologize for not writing as much as I would like to lately. I have been crazy busy with real estate work at Stone Tower Properties and baseball season has begun at my house. Between work, the kids’ activities and the 7 WW meetings I lead, it’s been a whirlwind spring so far!! Feel free to email me if you have anything you would like to share on the blog. It’s fun to read other people’s perspectives and thoughts…so please share! I will also be putting up info on local 5k events in the area to go along with our WW Walk It Challenge. If you have any information you would like to share with everyone regarding that, please email it to me! I look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting!!!
