It’s so easy to put off being happy!  Doesn’t that sound terrible?  But it’s true!!  I’ll be happy when….the weekend arrives, I lose 10 pounds, when winter is over, my kids’ college tuition is paid off, I can fit in ‘those’ jeans and on and on and ON!   Is this really how we want to live?  Is being stuck in the vortex of focusing on tomorrow to make us happy the best use of our thoughts and energy??

We each have the ability and strength to turn our thoughts around and create joy for ourselves today, no matter what the situation.  It’s great if we want to be healthier, lose some unwanted pounds or take steps to achieve any other outward goal, but doing it from a place of joy NOW is the best way to get results. Waiting to love ourselves and our lives when “X” happens is like chasing an oasis….we just never get there. 

Let’s commit to arriving at what makes us happy today.  Even in tough situations, we can look around and find the good. It’s there…sometimes we just have to look deeper to see and feel it.   You are perfect just as you are this moment and so am I, so let’s not allow negative self talk to creep in and tell us any different.  Enjoying the journey is the answer and it’s far more effective than waiting for some end goal we think we need to achieve to then start living joyfully.
