Terra’s Zero SmartPoint Hummus

Hummus and pita

I’m on the MyWW Purple Plan. All three plans are proven to work equally well and none are better or faster for weight loss than another. I chose purple because my idea of “freedom” is a having a long list of Zero Smartpoints whole foods (300+!) that I don’t have to weigh, measure or track. As a trade off, my daily SmartPoints budget is pretty modest….16 Smartpoints a day, in addition to my Weekly SmartPoints allowance. This doesn’t leave much room for snack foods, so I’ve been getting as creative as possible!

Rather than “spend” the traditional 1-2 Smartpoints on just 2 tablespoons of hummus, I created my own Zero SmartPoint hummus using chick peas, fat free, plain Greek yogurt, fresh garlic, lemon, Tanjin* and a tiny bit of water.

I must say….YUM! It’s a success! Keep in mind, I’m a “to taste” kind of cook, so feel free to adjust the amount of any ingredients to match your own tastes. My measurements are not always (rarely) exact!

These 1 SmartPoint pitas are a staple at my house and I’ve shared them on my site before. They are awesome as pita chips in the air fryer or cut in half and stuffed with tuna or even plain with a piece of Laughing Cow cheese spread over it. We get our groceries through Walmart delivery and I’ve never had any trouble finding them at various Walmart locations. I believe most grocery stores carry them? They are thinner and lighter than a traditional pita, but for ONE SmartPoint, I find them to a “bargain”!

To make pita chips, I use kitchen shears to cut one pita into 8 triangles. Then, spritz with olive oil and a dash of sea salt or garlic salt. Lastly, put in air fryer for about 5 minutes on 350*. All 8 triangles are only 1 SmartPoint!!!

This is the air fryer I highly recommend. We have a purple one and a red one! We use them ALL THE TIME! Click here for details.

Hope you enjoy this snack idea as much as we do! I look forward to seeing you in a WW Virtual Workshop very soon! Below I’m attaching my weekly workshop schedule. The link to access the workshops can be found on the WW app, in Connect, in the Fresno Connect Group. If you have any trouble logging on to join us at a virtual workshop, just email me and I’ll help you. It’s SIMPLE once you know how to do it!

This morning (Monday) I’ll be leading the 830am Pacific time (10:30am Central time) Fresno virtual workshop. Our team will be logged on 30 minutes ahead of time to chat, answer questions and help you with your check in before we officially start the workshop. Remember, WW members can attend as many virtual workshops throughout the week as you’d like. The support of the workshops are soooo helpful during these tough times!! Can’t wait to see everyone!!!

Terra’s WW Workshop Schedule

Mondays – Fresno Connect Group – 830am Pacific Time/1030am Central Time

Fridays – Fresno Connect Group – 8am, 10am & 12:15pm Pacific Time/

10a, 12p & 215pm Central time

1 Can of Garbanzo Beans (15 ounces), rinsed and drained.

1 Small Container Fat free, Plain Greek Yogurt (6 ounces)

1 Tablespoon Fresh Garlic, chopped, to taste

1 Tablespoons of water

2 Tablespoons of Lemon Juice

2 teaspoons Tajin with lime spice*

~Add drained, rinsed garbanzo beans to food processor along with garlic, lemon juice and water.**

~Mix until it’s as smooth as possible. It will remain grainy, but it shouldn’t be chunky. If needed….add little more water.

~Next, add the fat free, plain Greek yogurt and blend til creamy.

~Lastly add the Tajin with lime spice* to taste and stir in completely.

*The Tanjin with lime spice I use is pictured above. I LOVE it…but it does have a strong lime/citrus flavor. If preferred, salt to taste could easily be substituted.

**The order in which the ingredients does make a difference in the smooth, creaminess of the hummus.
