New Year. New Program. New YOU! How about some new food ideas to go along with it??? I’ve been polling other Weight Watchers to see their favorite foods and I thought you might find the ideas useful! I couldn’t help but add a few of my favs too!! See list below!
AWESOME FOOD IDEAS FROM FRIENDS WHO ARE LOSING WEIGHT!!!!
1.) 1 stick of string cheese cut up + eaten with grape tomatoes. I put mine on toothpicks and even my kids wanted to eat them! Also good dipped in a tiny bit of fat free Zesty Italian dressing! Thanks, Claudia, who’s lost over 10 pounds!!!
2.) 12 Wasabi flavored almonds with a cup of red grapes. The variety of flavors in almonds out there is crazy right now! There are TONS! I prefer the wasabi because they are strong and chased by a sweet, red grape makes the taste even more exciting, but try any/all the flavors. Yummy! To keep portions in check and make taking my snacks with me simple and do-able, I bought a package of little cups with lids. You know, the type that restaurants use when they give you pre-portioned salad dressing? Jewel carries them and they are perfect because it takes 2 seconds to portion out a can of almonds and then I can grab one portion and go very quickly. The container is small and secure to toss in my handbag and I can throw it away when done. Another thing that helps me on the go (which it seems like we always are!), is to bag up my fruit right after I wash it. I love the little 100 calorie baggies! Although fruit is “free”, I find I usually don’t need more than one of those baggies of grapes at a time. If I do, it’s just as easy to grab two.
3.) 1 Tablespoon of almond butter with flax seed with a banana. This is a Susie Special and we should listen to Nurse Susie because she’s lost 120 pounds so far! And because we LOVE her! There are various almond butter brands out there but Susie prefers Trader Joe’s and I have to agree. The almond butter is so rich and filling and combined with the sweet banana, it’s a snack that will leave you satisfied and ready to go back to your daily life without thinking about more food.
4.) 2 BallPark Turkey dogs. They travel easily, as well! If you want to dip ’em, put a little ketchup or mustard in one of those little cups I mentioned and your good to go! This has been a long time fav food of Julie’s. She lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 70 pounds, putting her under goal!! Woohooo!
5.) 1 Packet of WW smoothie mix-vanilla or chocolate-whisked into 16oz of hot coffee. This makes a huge latte with a full serving or calcium and 10g of protein! This is Cathy’s choice for a hot drink in the morning and since she’s the one who’s in charge of keeping the St Charles WW Center in order and my meetings there running smoothly, we REALLY want to keep her satisfied and happy!
6.). 6 ounces of plain, fat free Fage Greek yogurt. Add a couple packets of splenda, 1/2 cup of mixed berries and 2Tablespoons of Fat Free Cool Whip. Again-this one is SATISFYING! It’s sweet and rich but doesn’t leave you wanting or needing more. Its a great snack, small meal or dessert. Try it!
