FALL!

It’s time to recommit to our healthy lifestyle and set our fall goals. YES, I said FALL! It’s hard to believe summer is coming to an end, but it is and we are moving into a new stage. My hope is for us ALL to have a FANTASTIC fall 2012, so let’s make a plan and get to it! School is back in session, we have relief from the extreme heat and it’s time to focus on numero UNO!

Think about what you would like to have happen in the next 8 weeks or so. Let’ use Halloween as a mile marker. So between Labor Day and Halloween, we actually have 10 weeks with which to work. What do you want to accomplish?

Your goal could be a weight loss goal, in which a loss of 10-15 pounds would be realistic and achievable, but what else? Sometimes getting so caught up in weight loss and numbers on the scale turns out to be a DOWNER, rather than inspiring. We are trying to make our lives the best they can be, so what else could we focus on? Let’s think about some other non-scale goals that we know will make us feel fabulous AND help us to have a great fall.

For me, it’s energy. I want as much energy as possible so that I can do all the things this fall that really mean a lot to me. To increase my energy level, I know it’s extremely important that I chose as many “clean food” options over processed foods when possible. That means making time for meal planning and food preparation ahead of time. Once my week starts, cooking and preparing anything very time consuming is out of the question. Drinking plenty of water and getting my daily activity in are also important keys to keeping me feeling my best.

Those are just areas that I want to focus on these next 10 weeks. What about you? What actions, behaviors and thoughts will make this 3rd quarter of 2012 memorable for you?
